In choosing a candidate for County Probate Judge, I want a person of principle whose positions are neither shaken nor shaped by unsuccessful efforts, nor to willingly change their long-held views simply as a means to an end. Conversely, I don’t want someone who has so little understanding of that office, that he promises changes that he should reasonably know far exceed the authority of a County Probate Judge. In this race for Bennington County Probate Judge, we have a clear choice of which candidate meets these standards. My choice is Judge Lon McClintock.
Judge McClintock has never veered from his standard of fundamental fairness and equity to the community he serves. Having known him for over a decade, and served with him in town leadership, he always maintained his convictions with an open mind to the facts of a matter. He knows who he is – a person whose convictions as a Democratic candidate have never swayed nor been compromised simply by an opportunity to further a personal agenda.
We know the man who Judge Lon McClintock is. As our Probate Judge, we have seen his objectivity, his professionalism, his compassion and his sense of duty to our community. He has been there for us all. And we will want him there when we need him the most. So please, vote for Judge Lon McClintock in November.
We endorse Lon T. McClintock for Re-Election as Probate Judge for Bennington County
We proudly support Judge Lon T. McClintock for re-election as Probate Judge of Bennington County. The Probate Court is responsible for estates, guardianships, adoptions, and other matters. Most people involved in probate court matters do not have a lawyer. The Probate Judge must be able to educate people about Vermont law and court procedures, while finding simple and effective solutions to difficult problems. Judge McClintock brings these qualities to the courtroom. Having forty years of experience as a Vermont attorney, and three years as our sitting Probate Judge, he has earned a reputation for treating everyone with dignity and respect. He listens carefully, applies the law fairly and consistently, and never loses sight of the individuals and families involved. We have seen his integrity, steady judgment, and genuine commitment to the community. He is working to make the court accessible and efficient with quiet dedication. For these reasons, we are honored to give Judge McClintock our full support. We ask you to join us in voting for Lon T. McClintock on November 3rd, 2026.
